Levain Bakery: A Cookie Monster's Dream
I think I was with my mom when I first tried these cookies from Levain Bakery. That, coupled with the fact that these cookies are made with HAPPINESS, has always brought me back to this unbelievable cookie house. It's a bit far from where I live but it's always worth the journey. I don't think it's reasonable to call these things "cookies" anymore. They're more appropriately described as heavenly bodies of sugary pleasure.
Levain sells four amazing cookies: Chocolate Chip Walnut, Oatmeal Raisin, Dark Chocolate Chocolate Chip, and Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Chip. I got the Oatmeal Raisin cookie and the Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Chip cookie. When I left the store, everyone was checking out my cookies… or maybe it was my stunning athletic figure. If I had to guess, it would be the former.
Anyway, as soon as you order your own 4-dollar-party-in-your-mouth, you'll be immediately distracted by the alluring scent, which will entice you to lower your defenses. The next few minutes will be a blur as you consume this mysterious treasure. Suddenly, you'll look up and see the Great Cookie Monster, nodding slowly with approval. The cookie's powers are so strong that, even after you wake up from your daze, you'll be dreaming about this glorious cookie for the rest of the week, wondering how something so simple can taste so majestic.
