Bar Siena: Refreshments Will Be Served

Chicago's West Loop neighborhood is one that should never be missed when visiting the Windy City. This 5x5 block area contains some of the best restaurants in the city. Specifically, Girl & The Goat, Avec, The Aviary, and Au Cheval. That being said, the wait for these restaurants can be particularly long.

I’m not very patient, especially when I’m hungry. As I was in line at Au Cheval, I decided to take a quick detour to another venue for some snacks/drinks. I walked down the road and saw a place that looked fairly awesome. It was Bar Siena.

I was seated almost immediately in their outdoor seating section. The sun was shining and I was thirsty. I quickly perused their menu then ordered some drinks and bar snacks. The food was clean, well-made, and refreshing. All the dishes are ideal for patio snacking and sharing with friends.

Overall, I think Bar Siena is a great place to spend an afternoon or a night. I'm looking forward to my next visit!

  • Parmesan Potato Skins

On a hot day, it's always nice to freshen up with some cold crudo. Here, we have some White Tuna Crudo paired with Avocado Yuzu Puree and Tear Drop Peppers. [$15 USD]

I came to snack so I snacked hard. Who can resist some good potato skins? Nobody. Here's Bar Siena's Potato Skins. They were topped with shaved Parmesan.

The potatoes were a bit dry but that's alright. On the side, there was a cool Truffle Garlic Aioli for dipping pleasure. [$12 USD]

Ice, Ice, Babe - Lemon Italian Ice and Babe Rose Can at Bar Siena in Chicago

For drinks, I got the "Ice, Ice, Babe". In the pouch, it was filled with Lemon Italian Ice. I think the lemon ice already had some booze in it so adding in the can of rose was a great idea. [$14 USD]

I also got the Fist City Revolution Brewing Pale Ale. [$8 USD]
